2005 PONCA CITY WORKFORCE ASSESSMENT Completed by The Pathfinders Download the Complete 2005 Workforce Assessment Studies Ponca City Area North Central Oklahoma      A recent workforce assessment study conducted by the highly respected Pathfinders Corporation of Dallas, found that the industrial workforce of Ponca City and Northern Oklahoma was more productive, more reliable, better at math and English and had a better attitude about their jobs than the nation as a whole. So said the employers of Ponca City.      The study canvassed industrial employers in our community using a nationally accepted, statistically valid methodology during January and February. Pathfinders has conducted similar studies in over 600 communities and it compared the results of Ponca City with recent studies conducted in other communities.      The productivity of Ponca City employees was ranked as "excellent" by 44% of area employers. This compares to the national average of 27%. 56% of employers ranked the productivity as "good," while none, as in zero, said their employee productivity was even fair or poor. Nationally, 17% of employers ranked their employee productivity as either "fair" or "poor."      Worker reliability in Ponca City was rated as "excellent" by 50% of the employers surveyed compared to a 21% excellent rating in the average American community. No Ponca City employers rated their employees as "poor" in the reliability area compared to the 6% national average.      There were other significant findings in the study, skills, math skills, worker availability, commuting times, worker satisfaction, underemployment and more. The study includes a specific focus on Ponca City and an expanded focus on the North Central Oklahoma region since workforce is not limited by city boundaries. Posted on 3/28/2005.
