FOUR COMPANIES TO BRING
105 NEW JOBS TO PONCA CITY
The Board of Trustees of the Ponca City Development Authority approved partnerships with four different companies in actions that will result in 105 new jobs coming to Ponca City. it was announced late Friday. Three of the companies involved are new to the area and one is an existing company that will expand.

The agreements reached Friday will assist Custom Mechanical Equipment, (CME) located on Hall Boulevard in the Airport Industrial Park, to expand and add an additional 35 employees. While considered an expansion, CME has only been in the community since last summer when they moved from East Troy Wisconsin. The agreement reached between PCDA and CME

will provide for 35 new jobs above the original agreement signed in 2003 in return for a $360,000
investment by PCDA to construct new offices, parking lots and make other property improvements
to accommodate the company's growth. The company will then lease the improved property back
for a period of six years at which time they will have the option to out right purchase the facility.

"CME is a real Ponca City success story," said PCDA Trustee Greg Neisen, owner of Precision Tool and Die. "When we attracted them last year we hoped they would grow. We had no idea they would grow so fast." Trustees Chuck Van Cleave went a step further, suggesting that their fast growth had a great deal to do with their move to Ponca City. "When you're in the right place with the right employees, the sky's the limit," said Van Cleave.

In other actions, PCDA reached an agreement with Enviro Shield Products of Yuma Arizona, to move the company to a facility in South Ponca City. Enviro Shield makes environmental products and will employ 10 people within the next two years. The PCDA package to the company was worth $15,000 and included a relocation allowance and tenant improvements.

In addition, an agreement was reached with the Oklahoma Tire Recycling Company to provide ten acres of land in exchange for the creation of 35 jobs at an average pay scale of $31,500. The company uses a new process for recycling automotive tires in an environmentally sensitive process. The company expects to begin construction of their facility in the Airport Industrial Park in 2005.

The final action taken Friday was with Quarter Turn Resources. The company will immediately employ 10 people at a facility in West Ponca City at an average wage above the county median and they project employment to reach 25 within 24 months. PCDA Trustees approved an agreement worth $30,000 that will help the company build internal offices on the property they have selected.
