ST. LOUIS SOFTWARE COMPANY SELECTS PONCA CITY
Ponca City scored a big win last month when Host Analytics, one of the nation's fastest growing suppliers of management performance software, announced that it would open a North American Center of Excellence in Ponca City, Oklahoma. The move will ultimately bring 50 high paying jobs to Ponca City as the company consolidates many of its operations currently being performed in St. Louis, the United Kingdom and India.
The company is moving into office spaced leased by the Ponca City Development Authority, (PCDA) in the Commercial Federal Building, under an agreement between the company and PCDA. Host hired its first employee on July 18th and has a three year growth plan to meet its projections.
According to Host President, Jim Eberlin, there were a number of factors that attracted the company to Ponca City. "We needed a cost competitive community close to our current St. Louis location that had the skilled workforce, business infrastructure and support needed for our industry. Ponca City offered everything on our list." Eberlin first met with PCDA's Tim Burg at a trade show in Orlando, Florida last March and discussions began between the company and PCDA in April.
PCDA Chair, Darrell Stolhand, said that the jobs the company plans to bring are welcome indeed. "These are highly paid, professional positions and we have a skilled, experienced workforce looking for these jobs. It's a good fit."
Most of the new employees are expected to come from the local area although some will come from existing Host facilities elsewhere. PCDA Assistant Director, Tim Burg, said the company will employ motivated employees that will be an asset to the Ponca City area. "These are bright, entrepreneurial people that want to build their careers here. Host offers them this opportunity and it's a real home run for both the company and Ponca City."
The Ponca City Development Authority and the State of Oklahoma offered incentive programs to bring the company to Ponca City. The incentives are based upon the number of employees and the rate of pay for company personnel. According to Burg, "When the company adds employees, they win and the community wins so why not design a program that both motivates and rewards a company for bringing good jobs to Ponca City?"
