COOKSHACK "SMOKES" NATIONAL RESTAURANT SHOW
There is nothing like free food to bring customers into your booth and that's just what Ponca City-based Cookshack did at the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago recently.
Cookshack, (www.cookshack.com) the makers of high quality residential and commercial cookers, demonstrated its product in the most direct way possible by providing the 65,000 plus attendees of the show with a sample of food cooked in a Cookshack Smoker. The National Restaurant Association is one of the largest hospitality related shows and its members are a demanding group. Even their critical taste buds, however, were overwhelmed by the difference in taste provided by the Cookshack family of products.
Stuart Powell, Cookshack's CEO, presided over the booth in Chicago's McCormick Place. The show allowed Cookshack to roll out their partnership with Eddy Maurin, the famed Kansas City barbeque champion, and unveil a large, commercial grade wood burning rotisserie cooker known as "Fast Eddy's Smoker Oven."
As always, the company's personal cooker remained one of the show's biggest draw.
"We were one of the most popular booths in the show," said Ponca City Development Authority Assistant Director Tim Burg who worked the booth on behalf of Cookshack. "People kept coming back for more and I couldn't cut the meat fast enough."
Powell, Burg and Maurin were joined in the booth by Cookshack's national sales manager John Shiftlet and Chef Frank Terrenova, the Chef for Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island.
Cookshack products are manufactured and shipped from the company's headquarter facilities in the Ponca City Airport Industrial Park.
